 What is Classical Pilates?

Classical Pilates was originally developed by Joseph Pilates as an exercise program for injured dancers and soldiers. This form of exercise aims to strengthen the body with a particular emphasis on core strength and has been designed to improve balance and coordination, by teaching a greater connection between the mind and body.

Classes incorporate specialised Pilates equipment and apparatus, such as Reformer and Tower machines, where resistance and support can be tailored accordingly, depending on your personal fitness levels. Pilates offers a full body workout which is low impact and kind to joints and muscles, making it ideal for those recovering from injury or looking to improve general fitness and wellbeing, as well as flexibility, balance and posture.
